The easiest way to get from A -Z when it comes to lighting - There was a great article over at Fotopunto right here showing 16 lighting diagrams and the resulting image from each lighting set up. Take time to study each set up to appreciate how the light source(s) affect the final result. The diagrams are extremely well done and the final images look great.
