"Young Artists' Mentor"
© David A. Ziser
This image was made as part of a series featuring individuals involved in the Cincinnati community on a volunteer basis. The subject wanted his portrait made in this artist studio where all the young adults "hang out" and include all the budding artists as well. I lit him from the side by balancing my flash, going through my trusty shoot through translucent umbrella, with the available ambient light. That allowed him to "pop out" of the scene. My high vantage point on a ladder together with the wide angle lens created the desired result. Camera specs; Canon 5D fitted with a 24-105mm IS lens at 24mm, F7.1 @ 1/80 second, ISO 800.
