This image captures the essence of classic portraiture which fits the subject perfectly as she is just that, a beautifully elegant lady. The image was made at the client's home in a small shaded walkway to the side of her house. As luck would have it, clouds blocked the sun's rays for just a few minutes which allowed the background to render softly, beautifully and yet, full of rich color. In the soft shade, I was able to bring in my shoot through umbrella lighting which complimented the soft lighting of the shade and background. The wider aperture and distance to the background softened the foliage background just the right amount as well. I think it is a beautiful, elegant pictorial portrait. Camera specs; Canon 5D fitted with 70-200mm IS lens at 185mm, F5.6 @ 1/160 second, ISO 400. Enjoy! -David
