"Ready To Party"

This image was made this past weekend. Not only did I have a wedding on Saturday, but we also covered a very beautiful Bat Mitzvah service in the morning and party in the evening. Needless to say - yes, it was a very busy day. This is how the room looked moments before the guests entered the ballroom- it was magnificent! If you look closely, you may see a few of the 12 4x8 foot banners discussed in last week's Technique Tuesday. They seem dwarfed by the surrounds. This was the sixth and last Bar/Bat Mitzvah event for this family so they went all out for the party. Creating the image was fairly simple - Canon 40D fitted with Sigma 8mm Fisheye, F5.6 @ 1/25 second, ISO 1250. A quick trip to Photoshop to goose the colors a bit, a quick hit with the "Dodge" tool in "Highlight" mode to pop the highlights, and a quick run through Noise Ninja to reduce the noise - about 90 seconds in all. The feel of the room in this image previews the great party that was to soon follow. Enjoy! -David

I like the composition of this photo. I like the use of the fish-eye lens! It gives it a unique perspective.
