Webinar Wednesday: 5 Burning Questions...

Good Afternoon Everybody,
Today is the BIG day - my first ever Webinar Wednesday! We have almost 600 people from around the world registered and who will be "giving a listen" in just about an hour. Here is the link one more time to register.

I'm going to open the "Webinar doors" about 30 minutes before the start of the program so that everyone has plenty of time to check in. I'll also have Damien waiting in the wings with any technical issues that may arise.

I would love to get your feed back on the program. Why not just post them to the "Comments" section of this post - it would be much appreciated. Your feedback will help us fine tune the process for the next time around.

On that note, gang, I'm out of here to get the last minute details organized. I"ll get back to our regular programing next week. I hope everyone attending enjoys the show.

See you soon, -David

p.s. Yesterday's Panorama Tutorial video is now "live". Sorry for the delay. -David

  6. Hi David:

Made a mistake on the timing and only caught the last half hour. Are you going to post a link to a recorded version of the webinar?

    Thanks

  9. I thought the webinar went great for the first time out of the box! I don't think most subjects can ever be covered in an hour if you are going to open it up for questions, so you should plan for that. Sound quality and images looked great - no problems. Several typos in the slides - should probably be proofed more. The security certificate for the site was out of date and caused problems in the beginning (not your fault). But, I'm glad I listened - I learned some new things!

  16. Paul Johnson - UK: It worked great here in the UK David, you were crystal clear. It worked brilliantly. Great webinar highly informative and inspirational as usual. Maybe you could bring your Digital Wake Up Call Tour to the UK by webinar ? It would be great to see you here in person though.

    A big thank you.

  17. David, thank you so very much for taking the time/trouble to set this up. Worked great here in Australia. Worth getting up out of bed for the 4:00 AM start time here. I am sure you will set up more of these after you read all the responses that will surely come in today....... Curt Hakl, Townsville, Queensland - Australia ( on the Coral Sea / Great Barrier Reef )

  19. I really enjoyed the webinar, David. Thank-you! The software took a bit longer to load/get going on my computer than I expected (it took about 15 mins.) and I had a bit of trouble with the sound cutting out- but nothing that kept me from understanding or enjoying it very much. I can't wait for the next one!

    Thanks again.

  20. David, the webinar was great with absolutely no problems. Audio and video were all great. Thanks so much for sharing everything with us. What can I say? Love your blog, loved both of your tours that I've attended (this new one and one in 2006) and loved the Wedding Photo shoot with you at Photoshop World.

  21. David,

Thank you! Good information, as usual! I must agree with you about the reception etiquette and eating at a reception. I would always thank the bride or mother and let them know that I didn't want to miss a photo opportunity that might come up. Worked every time! I look forward to the next production.

    Thanks again!

  23. This was a great webinar. Thanks for sharing all the information you do!

One suggestion is to record it so it can be played later like a podcast if one is unable to make it due to to scheduling.

  24. Logging in was quick and smooth. The webinar itself worked well; just the occasional break in audio but I never got the impression I missed a point being expressed. Thanks for your time, effort and expertise!

  25. Thank you for a very informative webinar. I do have one suggestion. Would it be possible to capture the webinar in a video that can be published to You Tube? There was so much good information, it would be great to be able to go back and watch it over again.

  27. Thanks David from a former 'master class' member when you were first working with ProShots at your place in April about 8 years ago. The image of the BG on the hill overlooking Cincinnati I was there when you made it! As someone who is trying to make this fulltime (now that I my day job was eliminated)... you certainly picked up my spirits and made my day!!!

Great session, thanks for your time and efforts. Webinar worked pretty well; audio wobbled a couple of times but not serious enough to spoil the show. Once again, enjoyed it very much and look forward to the next one.

  32. Great webinar, with lots of helpful information. Your images are beautiful and it was helpful to learn the technique behind the images. Would also like to see some behind the scene images and images of your gear. I am such a visual person, it helps to put things in context. Especially the radio trigger on your flash set up.

  33. Sound and everything was great. I attended your Master class in April 2008 and really needed the reinforcement of everything learned then from this webinar. Thank you! Thank you!

  34. Thanks for the helpful info, as always! The audio was distorted at first, but then got better.

  35. I enjoyed the webinar very much. Hearing about your real world experience was invaluable. You have a great way of simplifying your techniques to produce such great results. I also enjoy your Kelby Training videos very much. Thanks for sharing your hard earned knowledge.

  36. I could not get the volume to turn up enough to hear very well, but what I did hear was good information.

    Suggestions for future -

Have an assistant that can read through questions and pick out some to answer.

In the blog post for the day add links to all the websites and previous posts you reference in the Webinar.

Thanks for sharing the information in yourWebinar and in your daily blogs!

  39. David,

The webinar was GREAT. audio and video quality were far better than i had anticipated. Matter of fact the video was so clean that i could easily read the address's you were reading off in your browser.

Thank you so much for the time and effort you put into this and everything else for that matter. I dont know how you do it all.... your like a machine.

We'll see you in vegas for the digital wake up call.

  40. David,

A terrific webinar! I enjoyed every minute of it. I appreciate your detailed yet simple explanations of lighting and other matters relating to wedding photography. I also appreciate and agree with your thoughts on dress for wedding photography. I have seen too many weddings and presentations where the photographer was too casual for a classy wedding.

Great job and I am sure we all appreciate the time you take to help others. I am amazed at the willingness of photographers to help each other.

  46. I was at work during the webinar and I missed it! Is there any way that you could post it for the rest of us who couldn't make it to watch? We wouldn't get the interaction, but I still think it would be beneficial. Thanks!

I attended your Master Class last year, and recently attended your Cincinnati Digital Wake Up Tour and as usual the time was well spent. Thanks again for all you do to spread quality photographic knowledge. Each time I listen to you I am impressed and feel that the money and time invested was worth it.

  49. Enjoyed the webinar very much, David. It would be interesting to find out if your on-camera flash is pointed toward your subject (direct flash) or if you are modifying it any.

Looking forward to seeing you on your tour.

Please do more of these. I think anyone who reads your blog would be happy to attend.
