”Sounds of Majesty”

Sounds Of Magesty

”Sounds of Majesty”

This is a photograph of one of the most famous pipe organs in Cincinnati, Ohio. It resides at Plum Street Temple – if you ever visit the area or are in town, be sure to arrange a tour of this historic landmark. The organ had just recently been restored to its original beauty and deep throated majestic sound.

Since I have the occasion to photograph in Plum Street Temple, I received the honors of being invited to make a “portrait” of the pipe organ upon it’s completed restoration.

My challenge was to capture all it’s amazing magnificence – only problem, I have no view cameras or scaffolding to give me the perfect perspective on the beautiful musical instrument. So what to do? It was Photoshop to the rescue.

This image eventually appeared in the ISO – The International Society of Organists Magazine many months later.  Heck, now I’m internationally published ;~) It was quite a thrill and the congregation and Rabbi loved the finished result.

Camera specs:  Canon 5D fitted with 24-105 IS lens at 28mm, F5.0 @ 1/20 second, ISO 800.  Enjoy!  -David

  2. That's where you borrow a TS-24 lens, and avoid the photoshop / lightroom lens corrections, great result though!
