A Quick One For The Road - Mind Bending, Earth Shattering New CS4 Feature

It's impossible to believe but, hey gang, before I get out of here, let me point you to my buddy, Jim Divitale's blog right here. In this post, Jim shows several images made at Photoshop World. But here is where it gets interesting:

Scroll down about half way till you see the Jurassic Park dinosaur. Looks weird, doesn't it. Well, it showing one of the new features coming out in CS4 - the ability to change you image into a 3-D viewable image with the right glasses. You guessed it - the 1950's style with the red and blue plastic lens. Adobe gave us all a pair for the preview. If you or your kids have a pair lying around, put them on and look at the image and be Amazed!!! We are adding 3-D weddings to out product line immediately ;~)

More Cool 3-D Photography

I got an email last week from my Internet buddy, Neil Creek. I blogged him a few weeks back about his 3-D photography experiments. Here is the DigitalProTalk story right here. Well, Neil has some more info on what's he been up to lately in his 3-D world. He has a great article right here explaining in great detail how to view his 3-D images.

He even used a picture of me to illustrate the article - now I'm world famous. It's worth a peek if you like this kind of stuff, and I have to say - I do.

3D - It Really Works!!!

You have to see it to believe it, but there it was right in front of me - the swirling, rotating, gyrating swirls of color - I could literally hold it in my hand!

Well, maybe I've overstated it a bit, but I have to admit, it was "super cool" (from my geek point of view.) Here is the rest of the story - I told you I was fired up with the new Fine Art Photo Blog launch and key to my excitement was the cool group of photogs I get to hang with.

Well, you've got to check out Neil Creek's site for sure. All the others are great too, by the way, but Neil's site has some really fascinating 3D images on it and I'm kind of into that kind of thing. Neil goes into the whole 3D process right here, shows a nice selection of images, discusses how to view the images, and discusses how he is using the nifty Loreo 3D lens in a cap to capture the images. The concept works a lot like the 3D Magic Eye books we enjoyed with our kids when they came out years ago. You know what I mean, stare at the images while crossing your eyes slightly and, presto, you saw it in 3D.

Neil's images work the same way - I found holding my finger out about 15 inches (a little less that half a meter for our international readers) helped your "eyeballs" fix on the image a bit more quickly. Some people can make it work and others have a bit harder time with it - if you can see it, it really is a fascinating exercise. More 3D - The Old Fashion Way

I don't know how I get on these "kicks" but I actually had the following video - "How to Make 3D Pictures" scheduled for the post today before coming across Neil's site. So since the two go hand in hand, let me point you to the video below that shows another 3D solution.
