"Chairman Of The Board"
©David A. Ziser
This executive portrait was made last week during one of my shooting sessions with the class. We were just wandering around the hotel and found this pretty cool hallway on the second floor. The diagonal windows and leading lines gave me the perfect backdrop for this portrait of Peter, one the the wranglers for the week.
I pulled a chair in to use as a prop for him to rest his elbow. With the other hand in his pocket, the nice loop lighting on his face, and the strong background, he looked as if he just walked out of the boardroom.
Lighting was simple – I just brought my Z-Ray in from camera right, adjusted it’s working distance to balance with the ambient light. Adding a slightly darker gradient with LR3 to the bottom right side of the image brings viewer attention easily to our subject.
Camera specs: Canon 7D camera fitted with 18-200mm IS lens at 50mm, F5.6 @ 1/80 second, ISO 800. Enjoy! –David
