I saw this tutorial over at Stock.Xchng, printed it out, and tried to duplicate the result. It took me a few tries until I finally got it. Some of the steps are not super intuitive which is why I thought I would do a video of it.
I really like the effect and see some applications for that really theatrical retouched effect. The folks over at Imagenomic have a great Photoshop plug-in that does what looks like the same thing. We actually use it at my studio and it does a great job, but if you want to save some dollars this tutorial will do the trick. Give it a peek and see what you think.
Thanks Dave! That was amazing. I never knew how to do this sort of thing.
ReplyDeleteGreat Post, the is a awesome way to create the smooth skin effect.

Love this tutorial. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteSOunds like a great tutorial, again. But am I the only one that keeps having problems with Viddler? They are hard to load, I get audio no video at times, the same things happen on their site. What gives?
ReplyDeleteLove your work and thanks for all the inspiration to keep going...Tom
Great tutorial! We've been doing something similar for a while ... but this method seems to be the easiest! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteIt's always a great day when Photoshop makes you say "Wow!" aloud. And this tutorial does exactly that -- thanks, David. I tried taking this technique to the next level by making the surface blur a smart filter (to go back and fine tune) but couldn't technically pull it off for some reason. Any thoughts?
ReplyDeleteGreat job David.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing.

Hi David I really appreciate your tutorial but I'm having trouble completing the process. Can you please email me at msgracie1128@yahoo.com for help. Thank you
ReplyDeleteThis was great, I really enjoyed seeing your paint with light trick. I never thought of doing it it that way. Thanks for sharing, very useful.
ReplyDeleteAwesome... the copy/paste technique is quite useful.
ReplyDeleteVery nice tutorials. I watched 10 yesterday. I was curious if you share any of your action settings. I noticed your painting with light in the porcelain doll and eternity twins and was wondering what the curve settings were that you use.
