This image was made completely with window light. The same rules hold true for defining the "mask of the face"- just be sure you have the camera side of the nose in shadow but still have plenty of light on the cheek closest to the camera. This is accomplished by turning the subject's head either into or out of the light. Once the lighting is perfect go for the best expression that suites the mood and scene. The lighting, key of the background, soft expression, positioning of the veil all combine for a beautiful portrait of out bride. Camera specs; Canon 20 D fitted with the 17-85mm IS lens at 56mm, F 5.0 @ 1/40 second, ISO 400. Enjoy! -David
