This image was made in another one of my favorite locations in Cincinnati, Ohio - The Phoenix - a very popular venue choice here in the city. You can see why. It's all about the staircase and stained glass. Every time I'm there, I try to pull off this shot. Back in my film days, I did it with my 30mm Distagon attached to my Hasselblad. Here all the steps of the staircase (leading lines)visually direct you to the bride and groom. The size of the stained glass above the couple create a nice visual balance with the stairs and staircase around the bride and groom. My assistant placed my radio controlled Quantum flash set to 10 watt seconds or 1/2 power behind the couple to create the dramatic effect. The shutter was slowed a bit to pick up a bit of the ambient for the final result. Camera specs; Canon 5D fitted with Sigma 12-24mm lens at 12mm, F5.6 @ 1/40 second, ISO 800. Enjoy! -David
I love it! But then, I am a big fan of super wide angles and fish eyes. Thanks for posting pictures, I enjoy watching them.
ReplyDeleteVery nice; and in addition to the lighting, great framing.
