This image was captured during our last full day in Oberstaufen, Germany. The weather was perfect for a walk around Grober Alpsee, and reasonable big lake just a short drive from our mountainside condo. It seemed everyone else had the same idea on this beautiful fall day as we did.  The walking path was busy with folks of all ages enjoying the beautiful fall colors, warm sunshine, soft cool breezes and incredible view of the mountains in the background constantly changing as you make your way around the lake.

The lake itself was also alive with activity.  We had been watching this windsurfer performing all kinds of acrobatics all over the lake.  I patiently waited for him to come back into view and captured this image with his sail against the majestic Alps in the distance.

I love the sense of motion in this image – his strong, step lean to the right together with the long strong diagonal line created by his tether to the sail almost let’s you feel the brisk wind breezing through your own hair.

The sky, mountains, and water give us a beautiful blue pallet of color against which to paint this fun photograph.

Camera specs: Canon 5D Mark III fitted with Tamron 28-300mm VC lens at 135mm, F8.0 at 1/250 second, ISO 100.  Enjoy!  -David
