"Haystack Rock - Cannon Beach, Oregon"
©David A. Ziser
How often does one see a vista like this? Well, I guess if you live in Oregon and travel over to Canon Beach, you can see it every day. This is one of the coolest, and easily accessible places for capturing some great images. I visited Canon beach a number of years ago, and then a few years ago, we had the opportunity to be there again. The vistas are breathtaking and exploring the environs with your camera will reward you with some great results. This is just a "quick" shot I made as we were walking toward the "famous" Haystack Rock. Granted, I did tweak the tones and in Photoshop, but heck, Ansel Adams tweaked his "tones" with burning, dodging, and development. It's the visual result that counts. Camera specs: Canon 20D fitted with 17-85mm lens at 17mm, F 18 @ 1/640 second, ISO 800. Enjoy! -David
Ahh this brings back memories of my childhood watching The Goonies.. I really should watch that movie again soon. Thanks for the great shot!
ReplyDeleteHi David,
ReplyDeleteNice photo. I live in Oregon and have quite a few images from Cannon Beach.
You can see them here:

on the next page and on the Pano page. If you find the time in your busy schedule, you might want to check them out.
Having moved to Oregon less than a year ago, must say this is a great place to live w/ a camera in hand! Haven't made it to Cannon Beach yet, though...

Hey David, Thanks for all the great info. on your blog. I attended one of your seminars in Sacramento this year and have heard you speak multiple times at PWC in Vegas the past two years. I had the pleasure of meeting LeDawn while sitting in the audience at PWC. Didn't want to bother you though. Glad to hear you will be at Imageing USA. If I happen to see you I will be sure and say "hi." Maybe then I won't feel like such a virtual stalker LOL. Keep up the great work. For what it's worth you are really making photography fun for people like me.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to get your book!
