"Evening At Tower Bridge"

"Evening At Tower Bridge"
©David A. Ziser

Here is another image I made as we were touring the Tower of London while visiting England. There is a great view of the bridge from one of the walkways near one of the towers. The evening light was just beautiful in London - skies were fairly clear all week and we had some really beautiful sunsets - albeit, sunsets occurred about 4:30 p.m. Anyway, that evening the incredible after glow held on for quite a while longer giving me some wonderfully rich color in the sky balancing the bridge illumination perfectly. Camera specs; Canon 40 D fitted with 18-200mm IS lens at 32mm, F 4.5 @ 1/40 second, ISO 1600. Enjoy! -David

  1. Very cool shot David. Reminds me of one of the very first things I learned from Scott Kelby about shooting famous buildings that have been shot a gazillion times from just about every conceivable angle. Looks like you found a very unique shot here. My first visit to a famous monument (St. Louis Arch) after reading Kelby's book and I took the following:

I always try to keep this in mind and your picture here is a great reminder!!

Thanks for doing such a great and informational blog!

  2. Different perspective for sure!
I see you don't have enough confidence in the 18-200 capabilities! ;)
Any hint why you chose high ISO over lower exposure? Why 1/40s @ ISO 1600 and not 1/5 @ ISO 200? Just curious!

    All the best!

  5. Very nice shot. I was there a few years ago (pre-DSLR for me) and got a nice shot, but I love the clear skies in yours.
