"Relaxed Elegance"

"Relaxed Elegance"
© David A. Ziser
This image was made at last Saturday's wedding and is just a simple, easy photograph of the bride taken on the balcony level overlooking the elegant surrounds of the beautiful Netherland Hilton hotel in Cincinnati, Ohio. I didn't want any dramatic posing, the bride was not into that at all, I just wanted a simple statement of my beautiful bride in this elegant setting. Illumination was provided with my Z-Ray technique [link], creating a striking three dimensional lighting on the bride. Light flooding from above needed to be blocked by my assistant who held a small reflector panel blocking the ceiling fixture. Camera specs; Canon 5d Mark II fitted with Sigma 12-24mm lens at 22mm, F5.6 @ 1/40 second, ISO 6400. Enjoy! -David

  1. I like the composition of this photo a lot. Did you get one similar to this in a full length portrait in the vertical position? Also, did you try one with the balcony squared up, just for balance? Lastly and most importantly, how did you get your hands on a 5D Mark II? I want one bad!!!!

  2. David:

I think that the title of this post should've been "MI EXCELLENT ADVENTURE WITH THE 5D MK2" hehehe

What an amazing image, the ISO is incredible with very little noise, very nicely done. I really like when you avoid full body poses composing the body with the lines and curves in the scene, you continue to be an inspiration to me.

    Take care,

  3. Nice photo but c'mon... 5D MarkII!

There needs to be more explanation of this 5D MarkII... what are your thoughts on it? How did you like it? You can't just add "5D MarkII" in the specs and not expect this. :)

Sorry, forget what I said. Not the part about the nice photo though...

  5. I love looking at your work and studying it to learn how some things work that I probably wouldn't have tried. I would have probably not left that much space on the right, but I like how it looks.

Keep 'em coming so I can keep learning more about technique.

    Thanks
