"It’s Quite Ducky Around Here"
©David A. Ziser
I took this image yesterday while on a walk around the lake on the resort grounds where we are staying. The weather has been especially nice since we arrived – it was a chilly 25 degrees back in Cincy.
I saw the groups of ducks in the water and with the sky and clouds reflected in the water, I felt the image had almost a “Monet” quality about it with the subtle tones and textures throughout especially in the foreground.
I also like how the wide angle lens created a kind of “motion” in the clouds running diagonally through the scene meeting the ducks in the top right hand area of the image. The monochromatic blues add to the simple composition of this relaxed, pleasing image.
Camera specs: Fuji HS10 (yes, I’m still trying to love this camera) with 24-720mm IS lens at 72mm (35mm equivalent), F8.0 @ 1/60 second, ISO 100. Enjoy! -David
