"Urban Spires"

I captured this image while in Las Vegas last week. We are quite lucky that we have the opportunity to be in Las Vegas at least twice a year and every time we visit, the city seems to have some new building going up. This view is from the new City Center complex that is just being completed. As we came out of one of the buildings, I turned and saw the glimmering of the sun against the shiny glass and steel of the other structure. What I liked though was the triangular element in the foreground and how it provide a nice counter-balance to the soaring building in the distance. Every element in this composition points skyward seemingly to signify the excitement, energy, and optimistic attitude of the builders. Camera specs; Canon 7D fitted with 18-200mm IS lens at 24mm, F14 @ 1/400 second, ISO 200. Enjoy! -David
Urban spires...great title. I am so used to natural spires from Utah and Arizona. Vegas is constantly getting bigger and City Center is just insane. I am sharing one of my shots when this newest hotel was opening (I got a little creative with Lightroom).
