This is one of my favorite images from yesterday’s shoot. It’s a simple backlit photograph but what really made the image interesting is how the vertical rails of the balcony railing caught the light. The railing was curved in shape and as such gave me reflections on the vertical elements that created a wonderful upwardly curved feature.
Notice how all the curved elements in this image all seem to converge at the bride and groom leading the viewer’s eye directly to them. The backlighting certainly helps too.
The monochromatic nature of the scene – blacks, greys, and whites compliment the overall composition of the scene. It’s sort of a black and white image but really in full color – kind of cool.
