"Beachcombers"
©David A. Ziser
Here is an image I made as we were driving up the coast from Bodega Bay last Saturday. The views were astounding – the cliffs crashing to the sea and the waves battering the rocks provided quite a bit of seaside drama.
The fog was rolling in and the clouds were beginning to hang heavy in the sky. I could barely discern three people walking along the beach in the distance and loved how they seemed so alone and isolated on the beach.
I overexposed the image one stop in the camera and then tweaked the contrasts in Lightroom to get the soft, subtle tonalities you see. I think these softer tonalities add to the sense of “aloneness” I feel in this image. The birds above were just an added treat being at the right place at the right time.
Camera specs: Canon 7D fitted with 18-200mm IS lens at 70mm, F10 @ 1/400 second, ISO 200. Enjoy! -David
I love the greys and the geese, but where are the people?
ReplyDeleteI like the list but I think something is missing. When I connect with it in my brain, I will add an additional post. The one that grabs me most is showing the couples in love because I need help in arranging couples outside of the marriage venue, engagements and such.
