Having taken so many photographs of LaDawn last week in Florida, I decided to make her the cover girl again today. This image was made with the technique I discuss in today's Technique Tuesday section. Super easy lighting (a $25 flash), great location, good looking model - presto, a very nice portrait. Camera specs; Canon 5D mark II fitted wit 24-105mm IS lens at 98mm, F 4.0 @ 1/6 second, ISO 400. Enjoy! -David

Since I'm a newbie to your site my question is also a newbie question.
ReplyDeleteWith your $25 flash, how did you get to the exposure time and ISO? Did you measure it, use the camera's meter, or just your experience?
Dave,
ReplyDeleteI know its not on this paticular post, but i was curious. How exactly do you set up your room light for bigger receptions? I have a bigger reception coming up and I'm really curious about using the room light.
To Mike V - not to horn in but in case Mr. Ziser does not see your post there is a good tutorial from his 08/19/08 post entitled "Dancing with the Light." "The Case for the Room Light" from 12/19/08 may also be of value. Regards and good luck.
